We Met Royal Caribbean's ICON of the Seas Chief Dog Officer...Rover!!

December 2025 was a cruise we'll never forget.

When we sailed aboard Icon of the Seas, we had the opportunity to participate in Royal Caribbean's Make-A-Wish charity auction.

Among the incredible experiences available was one that immediately caught our attention—a private meet and greet with Rover, Royal Caribbean's Chief Dog Officer.

As lifelong dog lovers, there was never any question.

We had to meet her, so the bidding began!

And We Didn't Show Up Empty Pawed

Of course, we couldn't meet one of the most famous dogs at sea without bringing a little Bark Avenue with us.

Having sailed on Icon before, we knew we'd be keeping an eye out for Rover. So before our cruise, we handcrafted two personalized bandanas just for her. We had no idea we'd end up sailing during the Make-A-Wish auction...what incredible timing!

When the opportunity to bid on a private meet and greet with Rover came up, there wasn't even a discussion. We were all in.

One featured a bright tropical flamingo print—perfect for life in the Caribbean.

The other was a festive holiday design, since we were sailing during the Christmas season.

Seeing her name on both bandanas made the entire experience feel even more special.

Rover Was Every Bit as Sweet as We Imagined

The moment Rover walked into the room, she stole everyone's heart.

She greeted us with a wagging tail, a happy smile, and the calm, friendly personality that has made her such a favorite among guests aboard Icon of the Seas.

She happily modeled her new bandanas, accepted plenty of attention, and even gave each design her own official "sniff test."

We're happy to report...they received Rover's official Paw of Approval. 🐾

Why This Meant So Much to Us

Bark Avenue has always been about celebrating the everyday moments we share with the dogs we love.

Meeting Rover reminded us that no matter where we are—at home, on vacation, or even in the middle of the ocean—dogs have an incredible way of bringing people together.

They make strangers smile.

They create conversations.

And they become part of memories that last forever.

That's exactly what we hope every Bark Avenue bandana becomes—a small part of someone's favorite memories.
